This Encore original focuses on Brodie, a support provider for people with disabilities. His job is rewarding, frustrating, often chaotic, sometimes dangerous—and rarely appreciated. Brodie’s sister, Chloe, is one of the few people with a disability who doesn’t like him, and his mother won’t leave either of them alone. His band is the only thing that keeps him going ... until a chance meeting with an attractive nurse named Mary sends Brodie into a tailspin, just as he comes under the shadow of a serious accusation. All this ... and he’s about to turn 30! This piece tackles another underrepresented group of individuals, people that support people with disabilities. You Name It! Is a light-hearted take on the frustrations of support staff and although the scenarios may be geared towards people with disabilities, the themes are universal. Who hasn’t had a day where everything goes wrong? Who hasn’t wanted to chuck their responsibility out the window?
