"4 New Comedy Shorts about the perils of living with a disability!"

9-1-1! is a collection of stories, some fact and some fiction, about people with disabilities interacting with the emergency response system. “The vignettes presented feature everything from head wounds to singing firemen.” Kelsy Schoenhaar, Executive and Artistic Director, wrote two of the shorts, “9-1-1 and Its’ Many Abuses” and “Putting Out Fires” a musical farce based on a true story of a woman being isolated at home without her support staff during a Winter storm. Wendy Prosise, Program Director, penned, “Creative Fact-finding”, a scene depicting a very creative art class. Morey Burnard compiled and wrote, “Help Is On The Way” with help from the company using an improvisational writing process (commonly referred to as a work-shopped process). Schoenhaar will direct alongside Assistant Artistic Director Sarah Luedtke and Technical Director Morey Burnard. 9-1-1! offers a look into the many reasons for calling and asking for help. There are accidents, self-inflicted wounds, honest robbers, incompetent operators, computers that won’t work, murder and kidnapping. We discover that sometimes it takes more work to get a straight answer from someone than it’s worth and the desperate measures that have to be taken when nature calls.
