Acts to Grind II
Sept. 12-19, 2009

"A collection of ten short plays authored by Encore’s staff, Acts to Grind II tackles the tough issues: Politics, Religion and Sex. Seventeen talented actors bring this all to life for a lively and diverse evening of theater. All shows written and directed by: Moritz Burnard, Sarah Luedtke, Wendy Prosise and KelsyAnne Schoenhaar."

Beginning their 10th Season, Encore is producing a combination of some of its oldest and newest short work. KelsyAnne Schoenhaar, Artistic Director and author of Real Life and Walk with a Vampire along with Program Director Wendy Prosise have written two new scripts, Quality Support, a comedy showing the extreme of direct support work and an Intermezzo, a four part piece commenting on the frustrations of Medicaid and a irrational response by a tenured human service worker. Assistant Artistic Director, Sarah Luedtke and Technical Director Morey Burnard direct and perform in two affective pieces showing the problem of communication with others. Also included is Extra Cheese an amusing peek into the home of one zany family written by former Program Manager Kevin Evans. While Encore has focused on the world of those with disabilities in past shows, Acts To Grind II broaches subjects intrinsic to all; our emotions, beliefs, needs, and our love-hate relationship with pizza. Featuring 17 immensely talented actors playing multiple roles we guarantee plenty of opportunities to laugh, sigh and take a cheap shot at The Man.
