Bio

Sarah Jo Schoenhaar (Assistant to the Executive Director, playwright) Sarah has been connected to Encore for 23 years, including 2 years as a direct support professional and nearly a year as assistant to the Executive Director. She has performed as a guest and staff actor and has written several short plays including Disability Ink and A Good Cause for this production. Sarah earned a Bachelor's degree in Spanish from UW Madison and is a freelance tutor, interpreter, translator and photographer. During her college years, Sarah worked as a residential direct support professional - that happened to be supporting one of Encore's former repertory company actors. Sarah states it is an absolute joy and privilege to work with the amazing actors and staff at Encore.
