Mallisa Petterson, Artistic Associate

A playwright, stage manager, director, teacher, costumer, and sometimes actor, Malissa Petterson has yet to discover what she likes to do best - but she knows she belongs in the theatre. Armed with a BA in communications (with a focus in digital media and journalism, and a minor in theatre) and an MFA in creative writing for the stage and screen, Malissa moved to Madison in 2011. After she spends her days at Encore Studio for the Performing Arts, she gives her evenings and weekends to Are We Delicious? as their production stage manager and to Broom Street Theater as a contributor and volunteer. She also serves as secretary on BST’s board of directors. In 2016, Malissa was honored to take an original work, The 800th Annual Salvation Swing-Off, to the New York International Fringe Festival. Malissa resides on the west end of town with an ever-supportive husband and a 75-pound dog who thinks she still fits on your lap.
